Last night was a hard, sad night for my 4 little ones. Catie, our faithful babysitter, came to dinner to the last time. She has just graduated and is moving. She has been hired by Teach America and will be leaving tomorrow to begin the next part of her life.
Catie has been a HUGE part of our life. She has babysat regularly for 2 1/2 years and has really become a close friend and part of our family. Our children love her and trust her completely! She has been with our family since our youngest was a year. She put up with the seperation anxiety from her and really earned the right to be one of their favorite friends. They really see themselves as her equal--to them she is THEIR FRIEND! She would try her best to make sure each child had their own special time with her. She knew how important it was to them. She was always patient with them when they fought over who would sit next to her during dinner and by her on the couch when she read them a story. (She would often come prepared with her latest favorite childrens book to read to them) Our kids knew how much she loved books that they always begged to buy her books at the school bookfair!
One of the things that I love the most about Catie is her total love of the Lord. Her desire to follow Him and do His will has been a huge example for our children. Our oldest, LS, is 14 and she has become very close to Catie. Catie has been a good mentor and friend to her.
I am very thankful for her! She will be greatly missed!
**Maybe tomorrow I will get the kids to share their favorite memory they have with Catie
