Christmas 2010

Our Christmas Eve tradition is that the kids get to open their first gift. They have come to expect new Christmas pjs. This year the theme was red and white polka dot for the girls. JT had handsome plain red pjs with white piping. They also open their first family gift--a new Christmas book. We read the book together before heading off to bed. The next morning will be full of excitement. We begin our day by reading the Christmas story in Matthew. (Papa usually reads the Luke version at his house later in the morning) Then we sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and light Jesus' birthday cake. Then....it is time to open presents!!

BG looking at Jesse. Who would have ever know that this would be her very favorite gift. Jesse has gone with us everywhere!! She knows all the saying that Jesse says and the order in which they come.

MJ loves her new nutcracker. She FINALLY has one of her very own.
Laura Scott listening to the story behind her new IPOD. She loves the fact that it was Christa's!

MJ loves her new shirt and vest. She quickly went and changed into the new outfit!

LS in her new WCA letter jacket. I tried to trick her that she wasn't getting one--somehow I don't think that she believed me!!

BG loves her webkinz. I think this is her first one.
JT holds up a cd of keys for kids stories. He has already changed into his JST pullover.

BG plays with her etch a sketch while MJ looks in her stocking.

Everyone gathers around to watch daddy open a gift. He clearly loves it!!

Mommy loves her pitcher from Dewitt. One of her favorite potters.

Sisters sharing a sweet hug after opening a gift.

Reciting Luke 2: 1-20. BG, JT, Morgan, and LS told the Christmas story this year instead of Papa reading it. JT and Morgan had to memorize this for 2nd grade.

Papa looking on as LS opens her gift. He has taken a special interest in helping her improve her basketball skills!!

Laura Scott thrilled to have gotten a new basketball! She thought that we had forgotten!!
A friend Liz, outside during our Christmas night party. Liz can't believe that it is actually snowing on Christmas!!

What a memory!! We count this as a sweet blessing from the Lord!! Our children couldn't believe that it actually snowed on Christmas!!

Kristina, another friend, modeling the snow for us in her new WCA letter jacket!!

A picture of our house the day after Christmas!! What a beautiful sight!!!
JT and MJ playing in the snow with Cheyne, our neighbor, in the snow.
